6th Baler Beach Break Master: A Local Affair at Rollins Point

It’s Baler tradition to summon local talent and have them home grown surfers battle it out at the breaks of Sabang beach. This year, the Aliya Surf Camp hosted yet another great event (remember the Surf and Music fest?) at its doorsteps. Competition went down at Rollin’s Point – a left and right beach break just in front of Aliya where the Beach Break Master would ultimately claim the title.

According to competition director Ronald “Nalds” Rojo, the weather cooperated and gave a good swell during the days of the contest. Light on shore winds did add a bit of a challenge, but the surfers were able to work out the given conditions.

here’s some photos of the surf comp, and list of winners of the event

LokalSoul.com is proud to be a media sponsor of this event. It’s all about the locals and ultimately the locals will be the ones who will carry Philippine surfing to greater heights. 2nd runner up Argie “Bad Boy” Hugo has this to say about the recent contest, Maganda kasi mas lalung gumagaling at napa praktis ang mga surfer dahil sa mga comp lalu na sa beachbreak master, nakikita na kahit anung condition ng alon ay kayang laruan.”

Baler locals are outstanding surfers and they continually evolve in skill. Events like these only make them better. Congrats to Saddam Faraon, this year’s beach break master.
