It’s the advocacy of this admirable group of surfers – Buji Libarnes, Nikki Dela Paz and Jericho Rosales of Coast Thru Life- to keep things simple and fun. To live life based on the stoke surfing gives and to just kick it laid back. Also, they are purveyors of a movement to bring back those easy days of surfing in the 50’s, an era considered to be the golden age of surfing. Retro is the apt description – and their attitude and surfing reflects a throwback to the good old days of good vibes. Last weekend the group was in San Juan, La Union for the event A Coasty Weekend together with guests board shaper extraordinaire Ian Zamora and surf coach Carla Rowland. Let’s take a look at the weekend of surfing, bonding and good vibes.

the Waves for Water Project
As active campaigners of Waves for Water, a non profit organization whose mission is to provide clean water to communities world wide, Ian Zamora and Carla Rowland visited parts of San Juan, La Union and provided water filtering kits. These life saving devices ensure clean drinking water – something many parts of the country badly needs.

All in all it was a great weekend that saw what Coast Thru Life is all about. Good friends and good surf makes a really coasty weekend. It’s about enjoying what this life has to offer while also giving back to the community.
