When a handful of Siargao surfers went all the way to Baler for the 5th Aurora Surfing Challenge, they met tough challenges. A very long distance trip, cold Baler winds and tough competition from all over. But as the event came to a close there were lots of reasons to celebrate. Siargao rallied in the Wahine and Junior division with Nilve Blancada and Paul John Alipayo finishing as champs. View the full results here. And before the surfers head back to Surigao, they made sure they’ll have a little bit of fun in Manila. How? By playing with lazers!

Thanks to our friends at Cloud Nine Surf for the pictures. It’s not everyday we get to see surfers enjoying themselves in the city. Usually they are always out in the water all day. And it’s great to see Nildie, Manette, Piso, Carlito and John Mark having fun, our last Q&A with them was such an awesome thing. Read the 3-part Siargao LokalSoul interviews here.
And more pictures. The group went to Boni High Street to visit the StokedInc store and goofed around for some skateboard action.
